Going Green With Your Advertising

Marketing the Earth friendly traits of your business begins by looking at what you are already doing.  Most automotive repair shops are already doing a few things that that are easy to pitch to consumers:

  • Waste Oil Heater (Oil Recycling)
  • Bulk Fluid Purchasing
  • Plastic Recycling
  • Paper Recycling
  • Tire Recycling
  • Metal Recycling
  • Coolant Recycling
  • Power Saving Computer Settings
  • HVAC Schedules
  • Using Recycled Products

Getting the message to your customers is also a simple task. Tell your green story through Web, Social Media and inexpensive print items for your office.

  • Build a “Green” Page on your website.
  • Post regular facebook content, with your customers in the spotlight.
    • “The oil we recycled from Mr. Jones vehicle saved enough energy to run an average size home for two and a half days”
  • Take pictures and videos of your efforts.  Having a iphone/itouch or small camcorder in your shop is easy PR.

Actions within you business:

  • Get listed on Earth911.com as a waste oil recycler
  • Use a bucket vaccum for fluid pick-up over.
  • Drain every last drop from your quart containers using a Oil Saver Funnel
  • Print a brochure or rack card to talk about your green program. Or, talk about it in you email communication.
  • If your invoices are printed on recycled paper tell your customers.  Go paperless and email invoices to your customer.
